Pace League
Guide to Pace League — placement test, weekly rounds, and season rankings.
1. What is Pace League?
Pace League is an online running league run in seasons.
Run anywhere — no fixed course
There is no set route; run near where you live and compete easily.
Your starting tier is set by a placement test. Each round you submit a run to climb the rankings.
For US accounts, weekly round boundaries and ranking times follow US Eastern Time (ET) as shown in the app.
2. Placement test
Before your first league season, you must complete a placement test.
Run the designated distance (e.g. 5 km), submit the result, and receive a tier based on your performance.
3. Joining a round

Each round runs Monday through Saturday (ET week). During that window, tap Start RACE in the lobby to enter.
Tap Submit in the lobby, then either complete a GPS run or select an existing workout to submit.
4. How results are calculated

1) Live GPS values
- Raw values measured by GPS during your run.
2) GPS-based actual distance
- Distance adjusted by comparing your track to the map to reduce GPS error.
3) Flat-adjusted record (final submission)
- The GPS-based distance further adjusted for elevation. This is the value used for the round result.
→ The official round result is your flat-adjusted record.

After you submit, the button shows Entered and your submitted record is displayed.
You may retry once per round.
5. Tier rankings — promotion and demotion

1) Mid-week rankings
Every Thursday at 9:00 AM (ET) provisional rankings are published. You can see standings for everyone who has entered so far that week.
2) Final rankings
Every Sunday at 9:00 AM (ET) final rankings are published. You can see the official result for the round.
3) Promotion and demotion
Based on final standings, the top 15% are promoted and the bottom 15% are demoted.
4) Inactivity penalty
If you skip rounds for 3 weeks or more, a penalty demotion may apply.
6. Season ranking

Unlike tier rankings, the season ranking is visible throughout the season and updates daily based on PP earned.
What is PP?
PP stands for Pace Point. It determines your season standing in Pace League.

PP consists of a base score and bonus score. Increases and decreases follow the rules shown above.
